Webflow to WordPress Migration for SaaS company Momento
Momento is a SaaS company that enables developers to write apps fast with serverless infrastructure built to scale. Their website was originally built with Webflow, but as they grew, they started running into roadblocks on the Webflow platform.
- Their internal marketing team ran into challenges when updating content on the site
- Their website had grown and changed so much that many 404s (missing pages) were present
- Their website performance scores were struggling
Our main focus initially was to improve their website’s performance. They wanted to focus on speed, meta data completeness, fixing broken links, and finding and fixing 404s (missing pages). Their Zelolab Website score was 60 at the start. Spoiler alert: When we relaunched the updated site, we had improved their score by 50%—achieving a score of 90!
As the Momento product grew and changed throughout the years, there were many page changes, URL updates, language sub-pages, blog posts, events, and even conference landing pages that came and went. This caused 404s (missing pages), which we discovered by doing a deep dive into Google Search Console and Google Analytics reports. Many of these URLs were linked to from other websites, but ended up as 404s on Momento’s site, causing them to miss out on valuable human and SEO traffic. Fixing these alone would make a huge improvement to performance.
But when working in Webflow, we quickly hit roadblocks. We knew that Webflow, commonly referred to as a “no-code” solution, is primarily geared towards consumers who want to create websites. It’s not the best solution for teams like Momento’s marketers and developers who are looking to iterate fast and create clean templates. We suggested a migration from Webflow to WordPress to unlock their website’s full potential, and make it easier to implement new types of content blocks that their team wanted to create.
“Partnering with Noble Intent Studio for Momento’s SEO performance enhancements has been one of our best decisions. Angela and Cris are not only talented professionals but also a pleasure to collaborate with. Thanks to their expertise, our website’s performance improved dramatically, moving from the red to the green in just one month. We’re excited to continue working with Noble Intent Studio to ensure our site stays optimized in the face of ever-evolving performance standards.”

As we migrated the content, we also fixed some idiosyncrasies in mobile layouts. While we implemented mobile-friendly fixes to the design of the website, the old and new website looked mostly identical. The changes were all on the backend, where their team is now able to more easily edit their website. We created custom blocks and re-usable blocks so that the team can recreate complicated layouts quickly. Since we now had full control over theme files, we really focused on eliminating render blocking javascript and optimizing the required marketing scripts.
With the re-launch of Momento’s marketing site on WordPress, the Zelolab domain score went from 60 to 90 immediately. This was accomplished through improving speed, accessibility, auditing and improving SEO metadata, fixing 404s, and making sure external links were not going to broken URLs. You can read more about the detailed improvements as well as what a Zelolab domain score is on the Zelolab blog.
As soon as we relaunched the site on the WordPress platform, the Momento team had some major updates they wanted to make to key pages. This was perfect timing, and these revisions were made much easier by having access to core template files, one-click staging environments, and an easy theme development flow that WordPress provides.
Now, they’re dreaming up new features and pages that weren’t possible on the Webflow framework. We are currently still helping their growing team bring new ideas to life on their new website.
A website that merely looks good is table stakes for startups like Momento. Having the ability to quickly add pages that look beautiful, have mature tools to manage SEO meta data, and be able to automatically redirect pages that have new URLs can provide a big leg up to a quickly growing SaaS startup. Plus, as their team grows, the new WordPress website will be much easier for other developers to jump in and work on.
